Swimming-pool, lagoon,… or simply Maldives ?

Swimming-pool, lagoon, or simply Maldives!!
No. This is not a Photoshop montage. This protected natural lagoon pool is one of the thousands amazingly shaped sandbanks of Maldives. This photo was shot a few months ago and could probably not be the same if I would photograph it again !
Indeed, according to tides and Maldives seasons (Maldives have 2 seasons called Monsoons) sandbanks constantly change their shapes due to currents. Some of them are moved away to another location, some disappear totally or for a while, and some other are born.
Who said Maldives landscapes are always the same ?

Where To Snorkel in The Maldives – Everywhere!!

Snorkeling in Maldives

You can enjoy the breathtaking underwater life in Maldives by simply having a mask and fins, and wading your way along the surface of the waters with fantastic visibility of the sea contributed by the clearest waters on the Earth with all year around water temperature at 20°-30°C (68°-86°F), and lagoons often reaching 32°C (90°F).
Islands with narrow reef flats and wide lagoons are the best for snorkeling. Resorts that don’t have a house reef, provide tourists with boat trips to the good snorkeling sites where you can see sharks, turtles, anemones, schools of sweet-lips, eels, octopus, rays and thousands of colorful tropical fishes.
This activity is so simple that children can do it. You don’t know to swim ? Well, then just put your mask on, walk a few steps inside the lagoon and bend down to look inside the water…you’ll probably spot life !
Snorkeling in Maldives is unique.

Breathtaking landscapes can be seen all over the archipelago and each hotel and resort is just a perfect secluded hideaway.

Some of them organize wedding blessings on their beautiful beaches, on a sandbank or even underwater.

Desert Tropical island in the unknown and far Haddumatti Atoll.
The Maldives stand as The Island Nation with app.1200 islands stretching along 823 km (511 mi).
800 islands are still uninhabited. The country long sea distances and regulations keep most of them absolutely virgin and unseen.
The Magic goes on.

The usual suspects ………..in every house reef in Maldives

The rainbow parrot fish. Largely responsible for the fine white sand of many tropical coral islands today. While breaking of chunks of coral and rocky substrates for algae they grind up the coral rock and excrete the same as a fine sand which have over the thousands of years helped create the small islands and sandy beaches of many sandy islands like Maldives. One parrot fish can produce up to 90kgs (198 pounds) of sand each year !
